Our Favorite Tahoe Wedding Planners
A wedding set against the backdrop of the picture-perfect Tahoe is definitely a memorable one! But let's face it, the planning process is no small feat. Luckily, our local planners are experts when it comes to logistics, navigating any obstacles, and turning your wildest wedding dreams into a reality. With so many talented planners to choose from, we've gone ahead and rounded up six of our favorites!

What are your top 3 favorite venues in Lake Tahoe?
That's a tough one; they are all so beautiful! Our favorite venue to work at has been the Olympic Valley Stables because Mitch (the owner) is an amazing human being, and we never get tired of seeing him. His property is so gorgeous and unique. Plus, we can go very green and bring in our own farm-to-table caterers and really build a sustainable event from the ground up! Next (of course) is West Shore Cafe, because of all the beautiful things they include, the great food, and the INSANE views! The one we are looking forward to the most this year is at the Hyatt in Incline Village! This is because of its great location and the amazing staff that makes sure every little detail is right! When we work an event here, we feel like we are on vacation! At the last event we worked on, they put a bottle of champagne in our rooms as a thank you for working so hard! Normally we are the ones doing all the surprises!
What is your favorite part of a wedding?
Monique: Gosh! My favorite part of the wedding day itself has to be the ceremony! I love hearing the couples' vows to each other and seeing how much fun they have during the ceremony traditions they incorporate. I am also a sucker for the first dances! I just love being surprised by the songs they pick, and I feel like I am getting a little glimpse into how they feel about each other and their parents or closest loved ones. I cry dang every time!
Christi: One of my favorite parts of a (heterosexual) wedding is the father-daughter dance! I think it is because I lost my father at a young age, so I feel it is such a special moment; it makes me cry every time! But on the flip side, THE PARTY - I love a good party with high vibes, lasers, and hopefully an outfit change! So let's just get to the party and celebrate this LOVE in style!
Wedding pet peeves?
*WIND! And lightweight signage that tries to take off in the wind! Can we require metal signs?
*Excessively long toasts (unless they include a slideshow with photos!). Note slideshows do not work outside in the bright sun.
*Complicated seating charts (individual name cards, mostly!).
*When a vendor asks a question that we definitely answered via email multiple times (but we keep our cool and just answer it again, AHHH!)

One Fine Day Events is a planning, design, and production company specializing in luxury weddings at private estates, resorts, and lodges.
What are your top 3 favorite venues in Lake Tahoe?
As we specialize in private estates, we are so fortunate to work with very unique venues that offer many unexpected details.
*The first is probably our Rocky Pines Estate. It sits right on the water and has a pier, a lovely lawn, and an incredible view of all of Tahoe.
*My second favorite venue is Dancing Pines - I love the off-the-beaten-path meets turnkey and fully dialed style of this venue. The views, the setting, and all of the inclusions make this place the perfect Tahoe venue.
*Third - Olympic Valley Stables - With the wide-open space, we get to completely customize the space to our couple's style while also having a panoramic view of the mountains in the background.
What is your favorite part of a wedding?
The reveal of the ceremony and reception space for sure! After spending so much time planning all the details and designing the look over zoom calls and in-person meetings, it's everything to see the look on our couple's faces when they walk into their wedding and see all of the designs come to life. I'm not going to lie; I have had to hide many tears during this process, even when I haven't been the couple's main planner. It's our labor of love shared with our clients on their happiest day, so it's hard not to get emotional.
Wedding pet peeves?
We have both witnessed and planned quite a few weddings, so we've seen a few things that don't go over so well.
*A line at the bar after the ceremony with nobody passing cocktails. As soon as the ceremony ends, we all know that every guest wants a drink. It's crazy not to prepare for this by simply passing cocktails and wine to alleviate the beeline for the bar.
*A DJ that talks too much. Let the event flow organically and keep the introductions and announcements to a minimum.
*Inconsistent flow of the event. If the floorplan is designed effectively, guests will know where to go next, but when they don't, they awkwardly stand around in places you didn't design for mingling, causing discomfort and oftentimes unattractive photos. The most important area that is often overlooked is the location of the dance floor and the bar. Two places your guests want to be - if they are too far apart, you will segregate your guests, leaving the dance floor often quite empty.
*Long speeches throughout dinner - This can be tough, but when speeches take over the entire dinner, guests get restless and end up talking during speeches. And your poor best man is nervously reading his speech with all this chatter in the background. So do everyone a favor and save the speeches for the end of dinner.

We are often asked, “why do you do what you do?” and the answer is simple - we genuinely care about creating one-of-a-kind events that push the envelope and bring exciting concepts to make your day unique. We don’t copy and paste events; we are here to create a tailor-made affair that authentically and genuinely represents you as a couple - all of your love, personalities, quirks, and life together.
While the creativity behind designing a great invitation suite or a killer tablescape gives us more joy than you can imagine, our top priority is you and will always be you. Every wedding, event, or project is of paramount importance to us. We make sure that your expectations are exceeded at every step of the process. Our job doesn’t start on the day of your wedding or even a month before; it starts the moment you reach out to us.

West Shore Cafe, Mitchell's Meadows, and Resort at Squaw Creek.
What is your favorite part of a wedding?
My favorite part of a wedding is seeing our couples surrounded by everyone they love and who has supported them throughout their relationship. We always get a little teary-eyed during the vows as we experience secondhand how special it is that we've gotten to be a part of their story.

There are so many gems here in Lake Tahoe, but our favorites include EdgewoodTahoe Resort, West Shore Cafe, and Sugar Bowl Resort.
What is your favorite part of a wedding?
The ceremony processional! It's our last one-on-one time with our clients before they say, 'I Do' and celebrate with their loved ones. It's a privilege to have that intimate time with them and provide encouraging words before they make that walk.
Wedding pet peeves?
Guests who think it's okay to switch tables just before dinner service when a plated meal. Most guests don't know that careful care and attention were put into their placement. Also, the catering crew has a printed layout of the guests at each table and which guest is getting what meal. Switching places causes a lot of unnecessary chaos for the service staff and planner during a very busy time of the wedding and is truly unkind.
