Lake Mary // Sugar Bowl Wedding

It's a special and darn rare thing to meet your future spouse in preschool, grow up together as friends and eventually fall in love and get married. But that is the love story Kayla and Pat will get to tell their grandchildren someday. These two love birds grew up exploring the mountains and wild spaces of the Sierra Nevada Mountains, so it made perfect sense to choose secluded Lake Mary at

Sugar Bowl Resort

to gather their families and friends and join journeys forever. Captured by

, this wedding was everything a mountain wedding should be.

Their gem of an August wedding date, brought with it the bluest of skies and brightest of golden sunshine as all the guests gathered at Sugar Bowl. Kayla and Pat chose to not see each other on the day of their wedding, until Kayla strolled down the aisle in the most gorgeous two piece wedding gown from

, arm in arm with her father. Pat's eyes welled up as soon as he laid eyes on his beautiful bride and the magic between the two was ever so palpable. What a moment to share with all your loved ones. Intimate vows were exchanged and it was safe to say, there were very few dry eyes at Lake Mary that day. Retracing the steps of their love story and promising themselves to each other forever, they sealed the deal with the sweetest kiss and biggest smiles. As Kayla and Pat posed for photos with their wedding party and families respectively, guests mingled, strolled the lake shore, enjoyed apps and cocktails and took in all the beauty Sugar Bowl Resort had to offer. Tunes provided by

Tahoe's DJ John Thorpe

played in the background while a delicious buffet spread was prepared for guests to enjoy. Throughout dinner, heartfelt speeches were given in honor of Kayla and Pat, which brought tears, laughter and smiles to all. It was easy to see how much love family and friends had for these newlyweds.

The summer sun began to disappear from sight as the bride and groom were zipped down to the lake shore to take their first photos as husband and wife. Guests anxiously awaited their return so they could watch the sweetest of dances take place. The music got louder and the sky turned dark and it was finally time to party! Under some twinkling lights and the glowing crescent moon, a luscious spread of sweet treats, courtesy of

waited to be devoured. Drinks flowed and dancing ensued until it was finally time to say goodnight. What sweet wedding in the woods of Sugar Bowl it was.
