A Stormy Truckee River Microwedding

Eddie and Melani live in Bakersfield, California, but had their first date in South Lake Tahoe at the Driftwood Cafe. These two adventure lovers have traveled the country together, visiting state parks, historical sights, and baseball stadiums. But when it came time to pick a wedding destination, Tahoe had their hearts right away.

With COVID restrictions in place, Eddie and Melani kept their guest list short and designed a microwedding with simplicity in mind. "We just wanted everyone to relax, be able to breath in the fresh air, and escape from the chaos of the year," said the bride. "It became all about enjoying the natural beauty of Lake Tahoe."

The couple rented a house along the Truckee River where they could have the wedding and also invite their families to stay. Melani's family helped with decor and food. Her father joined Eddie's father in jointly officiating the sweet ceremony.

On their wedding day, Eddie and Melani hiked up to Eagle Rock with photographer Josiah Hassler for absolutely stunning portraits - the stormy skies adding the perfect drama to his blue dinner jacket and her jewel toned bouquet.

Congratulations Eddie and Melani - your day was clearly perfect in every way!
