A Snowy Boho Wedding Overlooking Emerald Bay
A chance meeting at a cacoa festival brought these two together Serendipitously, cacao is known for its heart-opening properties, so it seems rather fitting that their journey began there! These two absolutely radiate authentic love, and it is truly a beautiful connection.
JJ is a professional BMX biker, and Colleen is finishing her studies in naturopathic medicine. For their wedding, they chose to have an intimate mountainside ceremony overlooking Lake Tahoe, surrounded by their closest friends and family. They were gifted with a gorgeous spring day; deep blue skies, a soft wind whistling through the pines, and sparkling snow left over from this mega winter.
Their ceremony was beautifully guided by Meredith Richmond, and included a sage clearing, and a ring blessing by all their friends and parents. Many a tear was shed and you could sense the deep happiness everyone shared seeing these two unite their lives that afternoon. Beautifully captured by Justine Grajski with florals done by Bewilder Floral there was nothing but love on this perfect Tahoe day.
Tips from the Bride:
Focus on everything that is going right and immediately relax about anything that is not according to plan. You are in the holy flow, so soak up each special and beautiful moment.
Think outside the box and follow tradition only if it is meaningful to you. If it is not, develop a tradition or find one that is meaningful and unique to your relationship. My final tip is to jump in the lake on the morning of your wedding. We went in April and the cold water was so invigorating and refreshing that it was the perfect way to start the day.
My favorite memory from the day was standing in the trees and looking out over Lake Tahoe while everyone was organizing their place for the ceremony. There is something magical about nature and the way the wind whispers and blesses the ceremony.
